Roman Catholic Church, Church St, Monmouth. Point of contact: Priest Nick James, tel: 01600 712029

Do have a small number of volunteers who in usual times provide outreach to members of the community as the need arises.  These volunteers are currently unavailable due to current lock down and therefore people are being linked in to the neighbouring churches volunteer community.

Monmouth Baptist Church, Monk St, Monmouth. Contact: Jonathan Greaves. Tel: 01600 716423. friends@monmouthbaptistchurch.co.uk

Monmouth Baptist Church are directing people to FaceBook groups inc: 1) Monmouth Covid-19 whose main purpose is to direct community volunteers to respond to need. 2)  Monmouth mutual aid & assistance, this FB group was initially a flood response service and is continuing to provide practical support.  Please share this information about these FB groups as they will be a valuable source of information for people who live a distance away and who contact us concerned about family & friends in our patch.

The Baptist Church are keeping eye on older members of the church community (in an emergency could extend this to members of the local community) needing help with shopping and emotional support.  Jonathan is exploring the option of a ‘shop and drop’ service and if this develops will consider going public with it.

For those directly affected by Covid19 Jonathan is offering a religious visit and to pray with them.  Jonathon is also liaising with the Chaplaincy at Monnow Vale about this.

I’ll forward to admin and ask that they circulate more widely and add to One Note.

Best wishes

Sue
